City of Chula Vista’s Otay Ranch Grove Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On September 13, 2023, a special ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the grand opening of the City of Chula Vista’s Otay Ranch Grove Park. It was a beautiful day and the park looked absolutely stunning, as many families with children were excited to explore this new centrally located park within their community. Grove Park is an active recreation park that includes a large multipurpose field, a children’s playground, basketball, tennis and pickleball courts, all situated on 7.1 acres located in the Montecito Village Core. The park reflects an orchard theme, reminiscent of the City of Chula Vista’s rich agricultural heritage. Groves of trees can be found in the entry plaza to the south and at the park entries. The activity plaza along the east side of the central promenade provides spaces for individual and group activities. The field is located to the west of the promenade. Large broadheaded trees provide shade, direction, and create areas of separation to the various recreational/activity areas. Baldwin & Sons was the Developer and the park has now been turned over to the City of Chula Vista for the community to enjoy. Other consultants included Platt Whitelaw Architects, BWE – Civil Engineer, Nova – Geotech, EDI – Electrical, Orion – Structural Engineer, Bender Dean – Mechanical Engineer.
