Career Opportunities
KTUA is a collaboration of planners, landscape architects, GIS analysts, and graphic designers focused on the creation of livable communities. Established in 1970, KTUA has expanded the boundaries of a traditional landscape architecture office by incorporating active transportation, community planning, federal planning, and natural resource management practices into our portfolio. With this diversity, KTUA has the ability to help shape the bigger picture while addressing the fine-grained details that contribute to sustainable natural and built environments.
Our approach to landscape architectural projects is to create rich, memorable places where people are in balance with their environment, and their social, physical, and economic needs are fulfilled and sustained. We deliver well-planned solutions for diverse and challenging projects by drawing on our creative spirit, innovative use of technology and lessons learned from more than 54 years of experience taking projects from idea to implementation. The foundation of our creativity is based in careful research, understanding the local context and history, environmental responsibility, cost effectiveness, and awareness of community and client needs.

KTUA is looking for an inspired, creative, and motivated individual with a passion for community-based design and healthy placemaking to work with our project managers and senior staff on a variety of projects for public agencies, educational facilities, and private developers. Projects are typically located throughout Southern and Central California. Responsibilies include architecture design, graphics, construction document production (hardscape, details, grading, landscape lighting, irrigation and planting), construction administration, planning, management, marketing and analytical tasks.
KTUA is an award-winning firm with a diverse team who likes to work hard and play hard. We have a passion for design encouraged by observing the world and sharing our travels, hosting field trips to our sites, and collaborating in our office as a team. The diversity of project types and the variety of scales of our projects keep us engaged. We are constantly evolving by learning new techniques and processes. You might catch us on Halloween getting competitive in our pumpkin carving contest or eating carne asada tacos during our parking lot summer BBQs, or in search of the most obnoxious present for our annual white elephant gift exchange during the holidays.
